Ruth Bereson is the Director of the Arts Management Program at the University at Buffalo and holds a PhD from the Department of Arts Policy and Management at City University London. She has a diverse background in the fields of arts management, cultural policy and cultural diplomacy and has worked in Australia, Asia, Europe and the USA in performing, visual and community arts and profit and not for profit sectors, as well as government.
Dr Bereson is very active in the fields of Arts Management and Cultural Policy. She contributes regularly to diverse fora such as Arts Festivals, workshops for Government Agencies, as organizer of specialized tracks in academic conferences and as convenor of the Cultural Policy and Diplomacy Working Group at the Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy and lectures. Dr Bereson lectures internationally on subjects such as 'The Underbelly of Cultural Policy Making', 'Why Manage the Arts?', 'The Diplomacy of International Art' and is general editor the UB Arts Management and Policy Occasional Paper Series.
